Day 43 - Paris, France

Updated: Aug 10, 2024

We are on the move again today. Our second to last stop of this incredible summer. Some have told us it is the trip of a lifetime, but I say it’s the trip of 2024. There are many more places we want to explore and experience that we hope will measure up to this trip.

There were some pretty sites along our journey from Geneva to Paris. And, I’m not sad to leave Swiss prices, which were the most expensive we’ve encountered all summer.

We made it to Paris and metro’d to our hotel. It was pretty easy after Martha solved the ticketing machine. Maggie could not solve it, sigh. Somehow we managed to get unlimited rides for four days. Score!

Our hotel is a block from the Metro so it’ll be very easy to get around the city.

After dropping our stuff and turning on the room a/c, putting out the do not disturb so no one will turn the a/c off, we left for the Olympic super store. We basically travelled back the way we came, lol.

Ahh, the line to get in the store was probably 30 minutes. But check out the view.

When we got in the store it was pretty much a madhouse. But we found our stuff, took a pic with the torch, and checked out for less than $200. It was a win. I might’ve bought some stuff online the other day so I wouldn’t have to carry it home, but I’m not telling.

I dragged Martha to a Ralph Lauren store because I’d heard they have team USA apparel. Sadly, it was not the correct RL. We did find beer on the way though and still had the Arc de Triomphe right in front of us and the Tuileries behind us.

We tried very hard to find the balloon/flame but were completely unsuccessful. You think

you would be able to see it from the street. Maybe tomorrow.
