Today we sailed! We took a four hour private sail along the coast of Barcelona and north. We tried not to learn anything, but the captain told us stories and we did learn stuff in spite of ourselves.
This is you’re one tidbit today. There’s solar panels/farm near the beach and they turn with the sun, providing energy for the nearby sports complex.
Otherwise, we spent the day according to the Maggie edict: a boat in the water and then a beach/beach bar. PJ, Dianna, Jerry, and Linda are leaving tomorrow and Monday. What better way to say goodbye than enjoying each other and celebrating my Mom’s birthday! Happy heavenly birthday…
And a beach bar!
What is it with Spaniard men? I booked the trip and corresponded regularly with the tour company. Yet, when we arrived, the captain insisted on speaking with my nephew PJ about the details of the group. Then, he needed someone to ‘man’ the boat (on autopilot) while he went below and prepared lunch. He picked Jerry (the only other male) and gave him a 15 minute lesson on the controls. He didn’t ask “Who has boating experience? Who has a captain’s license? Who would be the better choice for the job?” Nope, Jerry (who has never owned a boat) was handpicked and Martha wrote off Captain Marcelo very early on in the trip. She and the Sopranos (she’s on S3E2 of the binge) had a very good day while we swam and played.
