Day 18 - Mykonos, Greece

Updated: Jul 21, 2024

Today was Mykonos! Mykonos is an island in the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea. It is popularly known for its summer party atmosphere. We took a water taxi to the town - umm maybe we should have rethought that as there were way more people than life jackets. I learned later, that the locals are kind of all about taking advantage of the tourists in up charging. We saw this in shops but not like the amounts people talked about in Vibe later in the day.

Basically, I’m just going to inundate this post with photos.

Mykonos seems like a lot of white alleys with shops and restaurants.

I found a Catholic Church, said a prayer, and lit a candle.

We found the windmills!

And we found our friends: Laura, Heidi, and Jason.

We ate at Mosaic, which stands for “Meat or sushi and incredible cocktails “ according to Alexander the waiter. Linda had linguini pasta with lobster and I found another set of very good looking waiters.

A Greek Orthodox Bishop came to lunch in the square and the locals were beside themselves.

This cat photobombed our group shot - otherwise known as Martha holding the cat hostage. If there’s a cat, Martha is going to pet it, feed it, and smuggle it home in her luggage.

Another amazing sunset between Mykonos and Istanbul.

And as always, friends.
