Oh myyyyyy, when God created the earth, He blessed Zakynthos. What a beautiful place to just BE. And then when you go to the Blue Caves, well, the pictures don’t do it justice. If this helps: wiki: The Blue Caves consist of particular geologic formations giving life to a succession of caves along the North-West coast of the island; they start soon after Agios Nikolaos to end near Skinari Cape. I could add 1,000 pics and it wouldn’t do it justice.
Trust me on this - so beautiful it can’t be replicated. My friends were in the Maldives earlier this year and they said the water was more amazing here. Yowza.
After the Blue Caves we went to the ship wreck. 💯 true - if we knew how crappy the boat ride was, we would’ve skipped it. And the wreck was only in 1982. So, we really didn’t care. it was about smuggling cigarettes, and frankly I cannot think of anything more stupid. But here’s a few pics of the stupidity of “man”.
Then we came back down the coast with Captain George. We stopped in at least six or seven coves to swim in the Ionian Sea. I can tell you it was the coolest (water temp too, lol) thing. I will add pictures, but I’m telling you - this is such a beautiful place: the water, the people, the sea, the weather, I cannot tell you enough how amazing Zakynthos is to visit.
We jumped in and out of the sea for 5 hours, but someone had to man the boat:
Martha’s add: So while Holey Moley and I are envious of the other three enjoying the cold water of the Ionian Sea, I’m just hanging out with Captain George. We were jamming to Sirius XM Yacht Rock Radio (Okay that is mostly me, but he did know some songs )…until he deserts me for the cold water too. You know what that means “I’m the Captain now!! See ya’. wouldn’t want to be ya’
