This is my annual vacation post on signs and other things that made me do a double take. I love reading foreign signs and trying to figure out what they mean. However, on this trip, I really haven’t noticed a lot of weird signs that have taken me by surprise. Am I a seasoned traveler now or just not paying attention? Here are a few things that gave me pause:
I've already posted this one, and I don't care how many signs they put up, if there is kitty belly to be rubbed, I'm there.
This actually means don't dump furniture on the road side. But if you don't know that, it looks like no driving your chair down the road.
Best bar name ever (and I have been to enough to judge). This bar is called MOS - Maker of Stories
I am not a candy person, but if I had to eat a candy bar, I would choose Snickers. This one is triple long. I've never seen that. I love the fake gas/coke machine.
This is another thing I have never seen, but I don’t have kids. At the aquarium in Barcelona, they have bathroom stalls with kid size toilets (the yellow one). Brilliant! They cater exhibits to kids; why not have toilets for them. Maybe other places have them also, but I have never seen it.
In the train station, these raised ridges wreaked havoc with my rolling luggage. But once I figured out what it was, I think it is kinda genius. There are lanes to help visually impaired people get where they are going. I have no idea how the people know where to turn, but each track had a lane leading to it.
Turkey is very proud of their flag. Almost every building was draped along the Main Street, the street that everyone from the cruise ship has to pass by.
This was my "closet" in Barcelona. The VRBO had converted all of the bedroom closets into bathrooms, but you still need somewhere to hang your clothes. Good move, I would rather have the ensuite bathroom. There is a funny story about dirty clothes versus clean (and folded) clothes on the floor because there were no horizontal surfaces, but I am not allowed to tell it. Ask Maggie.
I love this display of earrings for sale. It is a very easy setup and take down when you are selling in a place where you are not supposed to be selling. We saw a few pick up and run when the Policia/Guarda came around.
This entry was on a menu in Nice.
These are GPS directions and road signs in Serbia.
This is me every morning searching for a large Americano coffee. And, a throwback picture of Sama-lama-jama as Batman, taken by his proud cat mom.
