A lazy day in Burlington, Vermont. Maggie slept in until 10! We took a cruise on the Ethan Allen III on Lake Champlain. We learned many facts about the lake, most of which will not stick, but were interesting in the moment.

The lake is fed from the north and south by the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouses on either end of the harbor reach different distances so Captains are not confused - 6 miles for the southern lighthouse and 16 for the northern lighthouse. The lake is deep and cold. Benedict Arnold basically wiped out a British fleet with smaller, craftier ships. This was shortly before he became a traitor. Ver means Green and Mont means Mountain, hence the green mountain state. Here are some views from the boat trip.
