Today is our last cruise day and we are in Isafjorour. Ísafjörður is a town in the Westfjords region of northwest Iceland. It's known for its dramatic landscapes. The old town has wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries.

As you can see from the picture, it is very likely that we sailed in the Arctic Circle sometime last night. That is pretty damn cool.

We are anchored in the bay as the ship is too large for the pier; so we have to take a tender to the town. It’s only about 15 minutes. So no big deal.

The town is small and quaint. I found a street painted in the rainbow 🌈, which we’ve seen in just about every town in Iceland.

In walking the streets I noticed that there are not always handrails on steps up to houses. Seems dicey given the weather in these parts. However, the porch was guarded by a kitty in the window so I’m sure it’s safe.

I continued meandering through town and found a statue to the fisherman near the town center, and randomly, a built in bouncy thing.

I continued walking up, as the views from the hills are spectacular. Of course their were stairs involved. Sigh! But it was worth the climb.

I saw a backyard greenhouse on my way back into town and a very old cemetery.

And then I found a cafe so I could write this blog and escaped rain that I did not know was coming 😂😂😂

Martha chose to stay on the ship today and work on the wifi. But her view of the town and mountains was just as beautiful.
