Today we toured the town of Akureyri. Akureyri is a city at the base of Eyjafjörður Fjord in northern Iceland. In the center, the 1940 Akureyri Church has stained-glass windows portraying scenes from Icelandic Christian history.
The church had a ship hanging from the ceiling.
The trash cans are kept warm with crocheted covers.
A heart welcomes you to downtown.
The sidewalk in front of the art museum is very colorful
Linda and I walked to the oldest house in town, constructed in 1795!
The slide is built into the hillside.
A little waterside walk on a very chilly afternoon.
Met some creatures along the way.
Overall a very cool town.
And of course, a cat.
Check out their red lights!
