While Maggie and Jason are playing golf, the rest of the group found other things to see in the city of Reykjavík.
I started my day at the laundromat (again!). It occurred to us that we won’t have reasonably priced laundry on the boat until about four days in. Yes, we can have laundry on day one, but it’s a cold day in %^*# before I’m gonna pay $7.00 to launder 1 pair of unmentionables. This place was cool because it was attached to a café. How ingenious!?!
Our first stop was the Punk Museum which was billed as a “tiny museum located in a former underground public toilet.” Shout out to Atlas Obscura (check out the website) for letting us know about this gem.) It was started by John Lyndon (aka Johnny rotten of the Sex Pistols) in 2016. It was SOOO small. But very cool. AND the guy running the museum, I had already met at the laundromat doing his clothes. Reykjavik is very small!
We leisurely strolled up the pedestrian street to the church which is the Number 1 tourist destination.
Speaking of how small Reykjavik is, we were merrily walking down the street and meet up with two friends who are joining us on the cruise, Heidi and Laura. Then, after a few pub stops and a rousing game of the UK version of Cards Against Humanity, we met up with Will and Tyler. Our cruise group is 12 is complete
And more cats. This is Ofelia. She is the neighbor’s cat and she is not for sale.
