Today is our last day in Manchester and we had nothing planned other than laundry, which up to this point has been a beating. Martha scoped out a launderette nearby and it couldn’t have gone better. We were in and out in an hour. Amazing. On the walk there, we passed the King’s Arms and agreed that our next cat will most def be a “pub cat.”
As an aside, there is a lot of construction in Manchester; street, buildings, inside buildings, sidewalks. It is kind of messy.
With more time on our hands than expected, and an absolutely gorgeous 70 degree day, we ventured out looking for roof top pubs.
First up, our favorite, The Nags Head. You remember this Place from hilarious signs in their bar that we’ve shared, previously. Also, there are 5,500 pictures on the walls. 5,500! This is Martha’s third visit and she still could spend hours looking at all of the pictures.
When you go to pubs here, it’s mostly serve yourself. Buy your drink then go to your seat. So when you sit on the roof, it’s up to you to go down for refills. That was my job, lol. We spent a very pleasant afternoon up top, reading, chatting, and just being.
We found a BBQ place for dinner and it was very good. Martha had the burnt ends and was very happy with the food, finally.
We struck out on another rooftop after dinner so settled into the patio of The Impossible Garden for a glass of wine before returning to the hotel for the evening. They do not skimp on the pours here in Man City!
